Prof. Vincent Blondel is the Rector of UCL since 2014. He is currently the President of the Conseil des Recteurs in French-speaking Belgium and Chairman of the Guild of European Research Intensive Universities, an association of 19 leading European research universities.
Vincent Blondel graduated from UCL as a Bachelor of Philosophy, a Master of Engineering and a PhD in applied mathematics. His research interests are at the crossroads between mathematics and information technologies. He obtained a master’s degree in science at Imperial College in London, and realised several postdoctoral stays in Oxford, Stockholm and Paris. He was a visiting professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
He is a Fulbright Scholar and a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Belgium.
